LevelLandlord ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding it.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and operate the LevelLandlord platform.
  • To send transactional emails (maintenance notifications, payment receipts, lease reminders).
  • To process subscription billing through Stripe.
  • To generate AI-assisted suggestions (rent estimates, lease analysis) using Google Gemini. Document content sent to Gemini is not used to train Google's models under our API agreement.
  • To protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats.
  • We do not sell your data or your tenants' data to third parties.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data and associated lease records for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your account, we will retain data for 90 days in case you reactivate, then delete it upon request. Stripe retains payment records per their own policy for financial compliance purposes.

5. Security and Breach Notification

We use industry-standard practices including encrypted HTTPS connections, hashed passwords (bcrypt), and access controls to protect your data. No system is completely secure.

In the event of a data breach involving personal information, we will notify affected users within 30 days of discovering the breach. Notification will be sent to the email address on file and will include: a description of the information affected, the date(s) of the breach, steps we have taken to address it, and recommended actions for affected users. Where required by applicable law (including the New York SHIELD Act and similar state statutes), we will also notify relevant state authorities. To report a suspected security incident, contact us immediately at admin@levellandlord.com.

6. Tenant Data and Landlord Responsibilities

Landlords using LevelLandlord are responsible for ensuring they have proper authorization to collect and process their tenants' personal information. We process tenant data on your behalf. You are the data controller; we are the processor.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at admin@levellandlord.com. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Cookies

We use session cookies for authentication only. We do not use tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies. No third-party cookies are set by our platform.

9. Children's Privacy

LevelLandlord is not intended for use by individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you by email or platform notice at least 14 days before material changes take effect.
